The 17th MMA Series tournament will take place on October 10. In the main battle the titled featherweight from Krasnodar Viktor Kolesnik (16-4-1) will fight with the universal from St. Petersburg Kurban Chokuev (5-2). In the second most important fight of the evening Ilya Freymanov (6-0), one of the brightest MMA fighters in the Series, representing the Kuznya club (Krasnodar), will perform. His opponent will be Erziman Bayramov (9-3) from Saint Petersburg. In earlier fights of the tournament viewers will see the return to the cage of two bright MMA fighters Alexander Durymanov (10-6) and Maxim Kolosov (8-2), as well as many other exciting confrontations.
The main fight of the MMA Series – 17: Blacksmith will be held with the participation of the brightest featherweight of Russia Viktor Kolesnik. Resident of Krasnodar was remembered by MMA fans with a five-round championship with the M-1 Global League belt holder Nate "Train” Landwehr in the summer of 2019. Kolesnik's fight with the American "Train" was recognized as the "Best fight of the year" by the results of viewers voting of M-1 Global TV channel as part of the M-1 Global AWARDS 2019, and Landwehr moved to the UFC shortly after that fight. Victor did not manage to beat Nate, but a few months later he closed the defeat from the champion and is now fully ready to give his career a new boost.
Viktor Kolesnik will need to overcome a difficult opponent Kurban Chokuev. The fighter from Saint Petersburg has won five times in the last five years. At the same time in the Chokuev’s record there are four early victories and only one fight in his career ended with the decision of judges. On October 10 Kubran will get a big chance to make a big statement, so Kolesnik should not underestimate his opponent.
Each closed-door event will take place under the most stringent conditions as determined by trained medical doctors. All of the fighters and participants are being tested and monitored for COVID-19 by trained medical professionals. Everyone supporting the fight will be wearing masks for their safety.
